Writing Centre
Learning Goals: Literacy, Emergent Writing, Communication, Expression
- Students write letters, make cards, create stories, or any other form of expression to communicate their ideas on paper at the Writing Centre.
- Writing can take many different forms. Children can use drawing, symbols, and inventive spelling to write and communicate their ideas.
- Placing the writing centre near classroom resources, such as a word wall or alphabet chart, will help facilitate children’s writing.
- Educators can engage with children in the writing centre to support and extend children’s writing development.
