What Number Do You See?

- In small or large groups, show students some dice.
- Lead a discussion about what dice are, how they work, and prompt students towards an understanding that dice display number.
- Draw the dot configuration and write the corresponding numeral on chart paper.
- Have students roll their dice and record what number they rolled. Encourage them to count the dots to check their answer.
- Do a "one minute challenge" and have students roll their dice and record for 60 seconds to see which number wins!
