What Do You See?

Learning Goals: Literacy, Writing, Communication, Properties, Working Memory

    • In small groups or at a writing table, display images or photographs to inspire writing.
      • Images can include clouds, animals or other objects that students will recognize to write about.
      • Different books can also be placed out for students to choose a picture.
    • Once students have chosen a picture or image, encourage them to write about what they see.
    • After writing, have students draw a picture that matches what they wrote.
    • As an extension: ask students to label their pictures using words and arrows.
