Vegetable Garden
Learning Goals: Environmental Responsibility, Sensory Play, Communication and Problem-Solving Skills.
- Provide individual or several large containers to plant a vegetable garden.
- With the students, fill containers with soil and plant a variety of vegetable plants and seeds.
- Engage students in discussions about how plants grow and document the changes the plants undergo using student observations, drawings, and charts.
- Introduce science concepts such as the role of photosynthesis, why plants need sunlight and water.
