Tower Number Line

Tower Number Line

Learning Goals: Subitizing, Number Sense, More/Less, Patterning, Measurement

    • Place a line of tape on the table and write the numbers 1 - 10 spread out along the line.
      • To extend: go to 20 with your numbers!
    • Provide students with linking cubes and have them create towers corresponding to each number.
    • Ask a group, talk about what you notice with the towers. Do you see any patterns?
    • Encourage students to extend the activity to higher numbers and with towers that show certain pattern rules.
