Rhyming with Names
Learning Goals: Phonological Awareness, Rhyming
- Begin by introducing your students to the rhyming game.
- How it works:
- The teacher says: “I say (a word that rhymes with a student’s name”.
- Then, students should reply saying: “You say (student’s name that rhymes with the word)”.
- To extend the activity, the teacher or student(s) can write the rhyming words on a white board.
- Optional:
- Magnetic letters
- White board and marker
- Optional:
- Children, as well as the educator, collaboratively enrich the activity.
