Pretend Cooking with Play Food

Pretend Cooking with Play Food

Learning Goals: Social Play, Oral Language, Abstract Thinking, Creativity

    • Provide students with a dramatic kitchen centre and allow them to create the kitchen environment they want to explore in. E.g. making signs, creating place settings, etc.
    • Once students are comfortable with the space, introduce a variety of play food to the centre.
    • Encourage students to cook with their play food and create delicious meals!
    • Extensions: If students are engaged, encourage them to create a restaurant with the centre!
