Play with Train Tracks

Learning Goals: Spatial Sense, Creativity, Directional Language, Communication, Teamwork

Provide a bin of wooden train tracks for students.

Offer support where needed with set up and assembly.

Explain how to use the materials, and support/extend student thinking with prompts.

Provide students with trains to test their track after building.
Wooden train tracks, other train track type toy, supporting toys (e.g., trains, cars, figures).
This teacher-supported activity allows for students and educators to collaboratively explore building directional structures, which can support students’ spatial sense, creativity, and collaboration.
