Phonetic Sounds Game

Phonetic Sounds Game

Learning Goals: Literacy, Teacher-Directed Game, Phonemic Awareness, Letter-Sound Knowledge, Letter Recognition

  • This is a quick game that can take place during snack time, or when children are in transitions.

    •  In a group of students, ask students what sound the first letter of their name makes.

    • Ask them what would happen if they replaced it with another sound. What would their name sound like?

    • Optional: use a whiteboard to indicate Letter-Sound Correspondance.
