Parking Lot Letters

Learning Goals: Literacy, Letter Recognition, Alphabet, Sight Words, Phonics

    • Provide students with paper that has a ‘parking lot’ on it (about 10 letters on each sheet).
    • Each space should have a letter associated with it.
    • Have a bin of cars with letters taped to them.
    • Students should place the car with the matching letter to the parking lot.
    • Educator can extend and prompt learning. 
    • Extension: Use the cars to spell out CVC words. Once students get comfortable with CVC words, encourage them to include some sight words as well.
