Each space should have a letter associated with it. Have a bin of cars with letters taped to them. Students should place the car with the matching letter to the parking lot. Educator can extend and prompt learning. Extension: Use the cars to spell out CVC words. Once students get comfortable with CVC words, encourage them to include some sight words as well.
