Painting a Story

Learning Goals: Creativity, Writing, Oral Communication, Fine-Motor Skills, Visual Arts

Introduce the activity with students and create a plan for a story as a class.

As an extension: Encourage each student to come up with a 'story-plan' individually.

Have students paint a scene in their story before writing it.

Scribe (or have students write) stories and be flexible with changes to the story-plan as students work on their painting.

This activity encourages students to be creative and make connections through painting and writing a story associated with it.

Students will work on fine-motor skills through painting and writing, organization through developing a story-plan, and oral communication through sharing their story with the teacher.
