One Number, Three Ways!

Learning Goals: Math Skills, Subitizing, Number Sense, Composing and Decomposing Numbers

    • Provide a small group of students with ten frames.

    • Have a student roll the die and then represent that number 3 ways: by choosing that amount of rocks from a bin, placing that number of counters on the ten frame and putting that number of beads on a pipe cleaner.

    • Have another student choose the card from a pile that has the matching numeral.

    • Take turns rotating roles and representing numbers.
