Name Puzzles
Skills: Alphabet Knowledge, Phonological Awareness, Phonics
Students assemble personalized name puzzles made from pictures that have been cut into strips. Each strip contains one letter from the student's name and a portion of the picture. Students use the letters and picture clues to rebuild their puzzle, putting the letters of their name in the correct order. Once students are familiar with their own puzzle, they exchange puzzles with classmates and work together to identify, assemble, and read one another's names.
