Menu Creation

Menu Creation

Learning Goals: Concepts of Print, Pretend Play, Life Skills, Financial Literacy, Letter Knowledge, Phonics, Vocabularly

    • Provide students with pretend food to use for dramatic play. Students can also make pretend food out of classroom materials, paper, or play-dough.
    • Have students interact with and explore food. When students start wanting to serve one another, encourage them to create a menu!
    • Look at menus from local restaurants to gain inspiration. If paper takeout menus are available at local restaurants, then try to collect some for students to explore.
    • Provide writing materials or blank menu templates for students to create their own menus!
