
Making a Puzzle
Learning Goals: Spatial Sense, Child-Directed, Collaboration, Problem Solving
- Provide students with puzzle pieces and encourage them to solve it.
- Provide different challenge levels including: not knowing what the picture is before and/or making predictions on the final picture or the number of pieces.
- Encourage students to draw a picture that they want to make into a puzzle. After drawing, have them cut it in 4-5 pieces and have a friend solve it!
- Any type of age-appropriate puzzle (variety of challenge levels)
- Option: paper, drawing materials, scissors
- This activity begins as free-choice and allows students to choose to solve the puzzle collaboratively or independently.
