Letter Match
Learning Goals: Letter Recognition, Phonics, Alphabet Knowledge
- On a printed alphabet strip, encourage children to pick magnetic letters, say the sound of the letter, and place it on its match.
- As an extension, provide students with a whiteboard to practice printing every matched letter.
- Alphabet chart/ strip
- Magnetic letters
- Whiteboard & marker (or any other writing materials)
- This activity encourages early letter recognition and phonics.
- It is teacher supported, as the child picks the letters, and the teacher provides additional prompting, support, and encouragement for sound and placement.
