Kinetic Sand Play

- Introduce your students to kinetic sand! You can also find this under the name "Magic Sand" or "Space Sand".
- Kinetic Sand is a great sensory material for fine motor development because it is similar to normal sand but it holds its shape.
- Place kinetic sand out and encourage your students to explore and make observations.
- As an extension: Offer small sand toys for your students to make and explore 3D shapes.
- Kinetic Sand (either store bought or homemade)
- Bin for Sand
- Optional: Sand toys or loose parts for extending play
The children freely used materials to initiate and direct their own play.
