Classroom Igloo

Learning Goals: STEM, Cooperation, Mutually-Directed Play, Spatial Reasoning, Turn-Taking, Visual Arts

    • During the winter months,  work together to build an igloo in the classroom.
    • Discuss what an igloo would look like and determine the materials that would be needed to create the igloo.
    • Provide recycled cardboard and paint for students to create ice blocks.
    • As an option: Post a large wall-length piece of paper behind the igloo for students to draw pictures of images they associated with cold weather and igloos.
