How Many Do You See?

How Many Do You See?

Learning Goals: Math, Number Sense, Subitizing, One-to-One Correspondence

    • Create subitizing number plates by drawing dots on a paper plate.
    • In a whole group or small groups, quickly show and then hide a plate.
    • Make sure to tell students to look! Say: “Eyes on the dotted plates!” to keep student attention.
    • Ask students how many they think they saw after you stop showing the number.
    • Note: Since the plates fit into one another, this is a great transition activity for kids who are ready, or a quick whole group activity.
