How Many Do You See?
Learning Goal: Math, Number Sense, Subitizing.
- Create subitizing number plates by drawing dots on a paper plate.
- In a whole group or small groups, quickly show and then hide a plate.
- Make sure to tell students to look! You can say “Eyes on the dotted plates” to keep student attention. Ask students how many they think they saw after you stop showing the number.
- Note: Since the plates fit into one another, this is a great transition activity for kids who are ready, or a quick whole group activity.
