- Work together to build a haunted house in your classroom during the month of October!
- Provide a structure for the haunted house and have students play within the space to determine what they wanted to add to their haunted house.
- As a class, generate a list of items you want to add to your haunted house.
- Using recycled materials, work together to create and add new features to your new classroom haunted house.
- Halloween decorations
- Cardboard, paper, pencils and markers to create signs, tickets, etc.
- Blankets
- String of lights
- Any additional recycled materials
- This example started as free play. The children independently started building the haunted house but this example became collaborative play once the educator got involved. The educator supported the children in writing signs and labels for their haunted house.
- The educator helped the children decide how to use the materials to create what they wanted but the children did all of the designing, building, and labeling.
