    Learning Goals: Literacy, Writing, Reading, Oral Language Development, Numeracy, One-to-One Correspondence, Mutually-Directed Play

      • Transform an area in the classroom into a flower shop.
      • Model how to take orders, prepare flowers, and write receipts.
      • Children can assume roles of:
      • Customers: completing order forms and count change to pay for their flowers.
      • Shopkeepers: reading the orders, writing receipts, and using a cash register to sort coins and provide change.

    We are the Play Learning Lab, run by Dr. Angela Pyle at the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education/University of Toronto.
