Building With Magnetic Blocks

Learning Goals: Cooperation, Fine Motor, Spatial Sense, Abstract Thinking

Provide a bin of connecting magnet blocks in an area with space to build.

Inspire play by encouraging children to explore how the blocks connect to one another.

Students can work independently or collaboratively to build objects/ structures.

Play can be extended into inquiry through the exploration of magnets.
Any type of magnetic blocks

Optional: Magnetic building surface
The play is initiated and directed by the students.

The required materials are previously set up by the educator as a center and during play they act as an observer.

Students can choose to independently build or build with someone else at the center.
