Michelle Iznardo is a PhD student in the Developmental Psychology and Education program at OISE and a graduate of the MA Child Study and Education program. She is also a registered teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers. Her dissertation research examines the implementation of universal early literacy screening policies in Kindergarten to Grade 2, with a focus on how screening data can guide instruction, support educators, and identify students at risk for reading difficulties. Michelle’s broader research interests include evidence-based pedagogies, early identification of reading challenges, and effective school-based interventions that support students’ foundational literacy development. Her research is funded by the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS).
