Sarah Cheng is a first year MA student in Child Study and Education at OISE. After completing her BAH degree in Psychology and Global Development Studies at Queen’s University, she co-founded a grassroots mentorship and character building program in Shanghai, China. The program addresses the educational needs of the underprivileged children of Chinese migrant workers. She also worked as a Grade 2 classroom teacher in a bilingual school in Shanghai for two years. She is interested in exploring the role of inquiry-based pedagogy and play-based learning in engaging the diverse educational needs of today’s students.
