Numbers Placemat

Learning Goals: Numeracy, One-to-One Correspondence, Principles of Counting

Each student gets a placemat and some playdough.

The students make playdough “worms” or balls to match each number on their placemat. (i.e. makes two balls of playdough and places them on the number 2).

Put the placemats in a sheet protector so that they may be reused.

The educator provided instructions and assigned placemats. The children completed the game in a playful manner but had little input on the direction or outcome of the game.
