In a small group, provide students with various sized containers and encourage them to choose one.
Ask students to record their prediction of how many cubes they think will fit in the container and then fill the container while counting the cubes.
Extend the conversation by asking students questions about the differences between their predictions and the actual amount or by comparing the various containers.
